“All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.”
So I am attempting to raise some funds for Homeward Bound 2009, but with the economy as it is, there isn’t a lot of willing participants. Homeward Bound is an event to help those agencies who give aid and housing to those who are homeless in Bloomington, IN; it is a big fundraising and educational event for them. It is so important to do well right now, there are shelters closing because they cannot afford to stay open! If you see this and can give, just a little or maybe you are just curious, please go here and look at the ways you can help us meet our goals this year!

I am representing Area 10 Agency on Aging this year as that is where I am an intern in the Social Work program at Indiana University; it seems like people forget that those who have been through much more than most of us can ever imagine are suffering just as much as everyone else in this economy downturn; the elderly have a much more difficult time even surviving when they are homeless. I am not certain I could handle thinking about the one grandmother I have left ever becoming homeless when I could have done something to prevent it. Please, if you can do anything at all to help, just one time this year, don’t hesitate. This fundraiser means a lot to those who are housed by and given housing assistance by the 12 agencies involved with Homeward Bound….you have no idea how much your contribution can make a difference until you give it!
