Krys visited

Friday, August 29th, 2008 by marie

Yay! My little brother Krys came down from Wabash and stayed with Chad and I :) It was awesome having him down! We hung out, ate out, drove around campus, visited different places, walked through the union and got his i.d. He came down Tuesday evening around 1700…so kewl! I think Chad liked having him here too :) Anyway it was a good time…he had to get back to turn in a copy of his i.d. today to his job. Hopefully he’ll be able to visit more often! Yay!!

15August2008 What’s Happenin’

So in all, I haven’t fully recovered from mono, but I am definitely beginning to have more energy throughout the day.  The timing of it actually stinks though because I haven’t been able to really work out since being ill.  I’ve really been trying to get our home in order as there are still quite a few things not where they should be including the computer room which has definitely become the deposit room for anything not having an immediate spot.  Along with the house is Army ROTC and the new class of cadets coming in that have to be introduced to what it is ROTC is all about.  YAY Bradford Woods!  So glad school doesn’t begin until 2 September!!  GO IU!!!

I’m glad the weekend is here though because even though I don’t have a paying job, it seems to be the time I get more done and have time to relax without guilt =)  I really enjoy them needless to say.

So I don’t keep this up very well for a variety of reasons, but the major reason being that I’m not certain what I want to put up here. Anywho nothing much goin on really. Chad and I watched a bunch of movies at home to include Jumper (which was really interesting actually) and then Semipro which was absolutely ridiculous…it wasn’t acting; you could get any bunch of teenage boys practically to simply talk about the biggest thing on their mind and goof off on a basketball court and you have this movie.
Other than that I’m trying to get some stuff cleaned out at the house and get IU ROTC to donate to soldiers of IU who are currently overseas. It’s all workin out.

7August2008 Happenings

So just to catch up a bit, my good friend Mitch is on furlough in the States right now so I needed to visit and will continue to visit with him while he’s home.  He’s an English teacher in China and doing very well at a technical college in Beijing.  We’ve been out to eat a couple of times, once with a mutual friend (Tom) and my husband and then another time just Mitch and I at Olive Garden.  Olive Garden is soooo yummy at lunch time too!  We had sicilian shrimp and calamari and then soup and salad between us; it was a lot of food and soooo good!  I brought a bowl of the fagioli soup home for Chad who had no problem eating it =)

I’ve been relaxing a lot, mono makes me want to sleep quite a bit and I’m actually afraid that I’m not going to be up to par when school starts back up 2September.  My problem is that I will have physical training 3 or 4 days per week starting some time the first week or second week of classes, as a part of Army ROTC requirements.  I tried helping Tom move yesterday and it made me nauscious to lift anything heavy up one flight of stairs; I have strength, but my body overall is weak (my arms and upper body had no problem lifting things).  It was all really weird; I’ve never been so weak.

Anyhow, I’ve been sleeping and trying to remain as stress free as possible, but now our washer is on the fritz!  Ugh, stupid thing, we didn’t drop it or anything and the dern thing doesn’t want to fill past a medium load and it only wants to do that on permanent press and only for the initial fill cycle!  Yeah, we have to stop and turn the dial in order for it to get through the rinse cycle.  Grrrr!  Piece of pooh!  Well lots of medium cycle washes comin’ up!!  We’ll get a new machine next month or the one after, no worries =)  The thing is only 2 years old.

Oh by the way, my iPhone still rocks, but there are a couple of things I don’t enjoy about it.  It costs an extra 15 bucks to download your contacts from an exchange acount to your phone, AIM is extremely buggy (one minute I’ll see what I wrote and the next time I’m in the same conversation what I wrote is gone and I do not clear favorite conversations), there is no quick access to calling people (like pressing the number 2 and dial to get your best friend, etc), oh and there needs to be some better designed cases for the 3G especially if you don’t like the little clear screen shield to stop it from getting scratched.  There’s a flip case for the initial iPhone that covers the face of the iPhone and then flips behind it so you don’t look like a dork with a ginormous head bulge while talking on the phone.  I think those are my biggest gripes for now, its a great phone to get to the web, GPS, use as an iPod, store all kinds of data, etc….plus you can download all kinds of free stuff from the ApStore…SOO much fun! =)

2August2008 happenings

So we (my husband and I) went to Indy today and hit all three Half Price Books around the area. In between we went to Fry’s and then the Apple store in the “snooty” mall as we refer to it; it’s a very upscale mall. Fun-filled day of books and technology of all kinds. Anyhow we went to the Donatos on 86th and it has terrible customer service; we waited nearly ten minutes before we were even acknowledged and the place was NOT busy. The store is directly behind the last Half Price Books my husband and I visited.
